Dr. Ranjiv Mathews is the Director of Pediatric Urology and Professor at SIU Medicine.

Specialty – Dr. Mathews specializes in the management of congenital and acquired urological conditions in children. His research interests include urinary tract infections, vesico-ureteral reflux, and bladder exstrophy. He has published widely on these topics and is one of the primary investigators of the RIVUR (Randomized Intervention for children with Vesico-ureteral Reflux) study for the evaluation of antibiotic use in children with vesico-ureteral reflux.

Education – Dr. Mathews received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma De Santo at Santo Domingo, completed his Urology residency at SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York, and earned his fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Brady Urological Institute of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is Board-Certified in Urology and Pediatric Urology.

Other – Dr. Mathews has been a guest professor in various countries, presenting topics related to bladder exstrophy and hypospadias.
