Two bladder exstrophy patients receive life-changing surgeries in Qatar
This is an exciting time for A-BE-C’s Global Care Initiative! Read the full announcement about the Annette’s and Sabyr’s surgeries at Sidra Medical and Research Center in Qatar that are a result of an international collaboration between A-BE-C and Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Development.
Both surgeries were performed by Dr. Pippi Salle, with the support of Dr. Jason Howard, Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics at Sidra Hospital. Dr. Mansour Ali, Chief of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Hamad Hospital and Dr. David Sigalet, Chief of the Department of Surgery at Sidra Medical and Research Center are also fully supporting the cases. The surgical team donated their services. Other costs, including in-depth coordination and arrangements, travel, hospital bills, and follow-up care are covered through donations to A-BE-C and support from Qatar Foundation.
