A-BE-C is Excited to Announce Newest Additions to Advisory Board
A-BE-C is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Evalynn Vasquez and Misty Blue Foster to its Advisory Board. In addition, Dr. Paul Merguerian was recently elected Board Chair, replacing Dr. Aseem Shukla. Our board helps to shape and guide the strategy of the organization and is vital to the success of our mission: To make the highest standards of treatment, care and support within reach of all people affected by bladder exstrophy.
Dr. Evalynn Vasquez serves as the Director of Complex Reconstruction and Malformations Program and is an Assistant Professor of Urology working in the Division of Pediatric Urology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Misty is currently working as a school nurse in Menlo Park, CA and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
A Special Thanks to Dr. Aseem Shukla
“Dr. Shukla served A-BE-C tirelessly as the Board Chair and was instrumental in launching our Centers of Excellence program. His global perspective to treatment and care of our families in the United States and abroad has guided A-BE-C as we have expanded our reach in India and now Uganda. A-BE-C will be forever indebted to him for his many contributions to growing and improving our organization,” stated Artigas. “At the same time we are excited for the vision Dr. Merguerian has for the organization during his term and we look forward to the growth A-BE-C will experience under his direction.”
Dr. Aseem Shukla was elected to a two year term as board chair in 2017. He will remain on the A-BE-C Advisory Council and will continue to support the Global Care committee within the organization.
